Are you Willing to Fully Commit?

When you look outside how do you see the sky? Is it big enough or not? Do you dream about the ideal life you would like to have or do you look to what can be improved in your own life? Did you think about the wide open outdoors of the landscape, the open vision to the blues of the clouds and huge, colorful clouds, the afternoon rare sunsets? Do you find opportunities and new experiences between the houses, buildings, big sky-crappers and monumental skyline of the small or big town where you live?

The unreal is more powerful than the real. Because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last.  Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. You can change the way people live their lives. That’s the only lasting thing you can create.

You and me are in a journey that is real, a destination. However the way we look at things can make reality have different forms. The way we imagine and feel new things can make it challenges or opportunities. I often think about this: in my life what do I real need or want?

The answer is that I want to explore everything I have not what I do not have with renovated passion and more focus in this present day. I want to explore further my challenges, because they offer me hidden opportunities. And I want to be more clear about me, us and be bold about what I love, what I have and my dreams (by dreams I mean the visions that used to excited me when I was a child and somehow still make me proud and with a smile in my eyes).

We all live in society with different codes, rules, metrics, family values and so forth. But what makes us real unique is our capacity to be ourselves, to be what we are capable without complaining. Being very honest I feel that when I stop complaining and I focus thus I understand my center of interest, I have indeed much more energy than sometimes I admit to myself. I realise that I complain far too much and I do not often remember the precious small things I have in my life. Therefore I continuously need to remember my vision of a greater life, celebrate my dreams, go the extra mile with a smile and without ever expecting anything in return but a feeling of good work, treating others the way I like to be treated, with love and respect and without prejudice. When I do this I feel much better, in a positive mood, and stronger towards my real challenges that no matter how big become contaxtualised in a particular picture.

The question to answer is what constitutes the larger vision that drives me, my real goals? What sense of what will help me succeed in this journey: boldness? collaboration? patience? discipline? persistence?

In order to answer these question one needs the willingness to assume his / hers own skin, the right role to act in theater of life, most of the time different and in need of adjustment towards somehow a represntative default self.

There are no problems in life, just challenges!

I cannot forget to remember to be thankful with everything I have. There are no problems in life, just challenges! and I am know I have to repeat this to myself and choose careful what I think and the words I use in my daily life. It is all about language, choice of semantics, metaphors, imagine the right angle or light. Again the focus on looking at problems not as challenges, but as opportunities. When a door closes always another door will open independent of how much painful the last door that closes leaves behind. Look at life with changing, open eyes, trying to get out of old comfort zones, focusing in the expanded concept of passion, love, perseverance and dedication.

Life is a long and full of surprises journey. The certain way to be wrong is to think you somehow control it.

We can only be prepared to enjoy all the details of life is if we have and manage our expectations and frustrations without ego. In any giving moment dedicating ourselves to a total notion of being better everyday, even if it is just 5% or 10% better this new day than yesterday. Further non expecting anything in exchange when we do something good, but remembering with gratitude all what we have already, the people we love and love us, children smiling and happy, and special manage expectations and circumstance with daily renovated persistence. Trying again and again with a smile do attitude!

I found this quote and I can associate it to the travel experience of life:

“Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” – Cesare Pavese

And living is being always ready to getting out of the comfort zone! Indeed if we do it there are so many new opportunities. It is all about the dedication, the quantity of passion we put in things and understanding that:

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.” – Henry Miller

All of us know we have some considerable challenges but the focus is always in the present now moment look at things in different ways. God and the universe gives us opportunities and is not expecting for us to ask but to give. When I was a child I read a lot of books of biographies about big men, saints and great entrepreneurs, doers, people that went the extra mile. All of them were exceptional, because they did not limit themselves, they had no frames to look at things or how to live in some conventional ways. They were always opened to new opportunities, and most of the time made the opportunities happen, with all the various challenges they had and focus on their dreams and how to exceed. That is why they achieved so much.

I am trying hard to let go my ego, my necessity of thinking about me, my issues or too much selfishness small details of thinking I have not enough, I am not enough. Society or prejudice are all done inside our ego and the way we look at us in the mirror. I want to look not in the mirror of me, but the mirror of opportunities and life with all its different waves of a big wonderful strong sea I cannot ever control, but where I can enjoy its water and wisely navigate to different destinations day by day in a mythical journey I can write and write again.

“When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.” – D. H. Lawrence

And life always rushes in various directions, some we find at first difficult or painful, but somehow open new readings for our mind and senses plus instinct. Thus independent of our different questions, dilemmas or paradoxes we have a journey and the best way to live this daily destination life travel is to be open minded and able to get out of the comfort zone. Be ready to move, let the ego go and smile as it is a jolly ride! And always remember these wonderful words of Mark Twain:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
